Work Experience on the Eye Team

This post is slightly a bragging post. I began to write this post describing my work experience week but as I started to look through the pictures I realized how proud I was. Not proud of myself or my adventure. Proud of my brother. Seriously though. He is such an amazing guy. I'm so excited to see what God has in store for him and I'm so thankful he's in my life. Seeing him with the patients was awesome and seeing how eager he was to learn was inspiring. He's got compassion that overwhelms even the hardest heart. I just love him.

Thank you to Kathryn and Abraham for taking such awesome pictures

AMIFF 2013

So it's that time of year for the annual Africa Mercy International Film Festival! I was really impressed with the variety and skill in all of the videos. We entered one film and we were awarded 'Hottest Acting', in which we were awarded hot chilies. This, however, it was probably not smart to let Nathan get ahold of them. He proceeded to eat an entire chili pepper and has spent the remainder of the evening crying and sweating! I would have posted a picture but I want to save you from the horror!! What an evening. Also, the reason we were wearing hats in the later pictures is because Jay, having been in Paris, brought us French hats. So, naturally, we took a picture with all of us wearing them!

Hotdogs in the Cafe

So because of complications in Guinea, our other youth kids could not meet up with us. This resulted in an excess of hotdogs and smoothies. We enjoyed it and we went and played frisbee anyway!

(I am clearly running out of things to blog about.)
